October 2024. VVM Debate team

On October 19, nine of our VVM debate class students participated in the Top Dawg Middle School debate tournament at Stephen F. Austin High School, where they made a strong showing. Four students reached the semifinals in impromptu speaking, placing in the top 16 out of 40 competitors. One team ranked in the top 14 out of 32 in duet improvisation, and another student reached the finals in congressional debate, finishing in the top 15 out of 43. Competing against 17 schools, VVM stood out as a small after-school program that brought impressive competition to the event!! Dalton, thank you for your invaluable support, VVM is lucky to have you & kudos to the kids.

July 2024. VVM Yoga Teacher Meena Kankani felicitated

VVM yoga teacher Meena Kankani was felicitated by Honorable Consul General of India, Shri D.C. Manjunath, at a special event at VPSS Haveli organized by SVYASA and Hindus of Greater Houston (HGH) to honor eminent yoga teachers of Houston. On this occasion, VVM yoga assistant teacher Simmi Dargan organized a performance of Yoga Asana Flow featuring several VVM students aged 11 to 82. Read more in Indo American News. July 2024. Parth Dargan is director for Hindu Heritage Youth Camp HHYC 2024

April 2024. Triathlon

VVM student Aarna Patel, a 5th grader, finished the Kids Triathlon in 39.25 minutes! This consisted of 4 miles on bicycle, 1.6 miles of running, and 225 meters of swimming. Congratulations Aarna!

March 2024. VVM Alumna in US Cricket Team. March 26 is Pooja Shah Day in Fort Bend County

VVM alumna Pooja Shah will represent team USA in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifiers next month! March 26 is now Pooja Shah Day in Fort Bend County!

March 2024. Art

VVM student Samika Dutta won 2nd position at the RedBlueArts Academy Art Exhibition. She received the award from Hon. Manjunath, Consul General of India in Houston, and Dr. Subodh Bhuchar. Her parents give credit to VVM where she took her first structured art class.

February 2024. Hindus of Greater Houston

VVM Principal Rachana Shah has been unanimously selected as the President of Hindus of Greater Houston (HGH). Hindus of Greater Houston is the primary organization serving all Hindus in the Greater Houston area. Congratulations and best wishes Rachanaben!

February-March 2024. Debate

The VVM debate team once again did us proud. Aritraa, Shaivi, Kanav, Rohin, Riaan, Aaryan, Shlok, Krish, and Vivaan  participated in the Olle Middle School Debate Tournament featuring 19 schools. 4 students advanced to the semifinals and one to the finals. At the Coppell Middle School Debate Tournament, Rohin won 2nd place in impromptu speaking and 4th place in the congressional debate.

January 2024. State Level Science Competition

Aahana Banatwala, a second grade student at VVM won 2nd rank at the state level science competition held by the Private School Association of Texas (PSIA). Her parents say that the credit goes to her regular school, VVM, and her teachers at both schools. We are proud of you, Aahana!

April 2023. Going Green

VVM Alumna, youth teacher, and Clements High School student Hirni Bhuta recently did a project on how VVM can do better for Mother Earth. She presented a set of 5 simple, clear, and actionable ideas and connected them to the teachings of Pushtimarg. Her ideas are already making an impact at VVM. Can you think of other places to implement these ideas? Can you come up with other ways to help the environment?

VVM's vision is to prepare well-balanced, competent and compassionate citizens of tomorrow who are proud of their roots, heritage, culture, and history and are ready to build a brighter tomorrow. Students like Hirni bring that vision to life. We are proud of you Hirni!

February 2023. Debate Class

The VVM debate team consisting of (pictured from left) Dhimahi Goswami, Rohin Shah, Kanav Master, Aritraa Chakraborty, and Shaivi Shah performed well at the Olle Owl Middle School Invitational Tournament in February 25, 2023.

Aritraa Chakraborty earned a place in the top 10 in a field of 88 competitors from 3 different states in a middle congress debate tournament on March 12, 2023.

Debate teacher Dalton Monteiro goes above and beyond to teach his students and prepare them for public speaking. He has continued to teach his students and spend time with them outside of class hours on evenings and weekends even after he moved to Dallas. Dalton says that more important than winning is to participate and to keep learning. His students are clearly inspired by his passion and are making us proud.

January 2023. VVM Alumna in USA Women's U19 Cricket Team

VVM Alumna Pooja Shah represented USA in the inaugural Women's U19 T20 World Cup in January 2023 in South Africa. We are proud of you Pooja!
