Brief History

India is an ancient country with great diversity. It has made notable contributions in the fields of philosophy, mathematics, science, arts, literature, and music. It has its own unique but diverse cuisine.

Since the mid nineteen-sixties many individuals from India have migrated to the United States and have become its citizens. While they have settled in the US and are contributing to their adopted land’s economy they continue to appreciate the value of India’s cultural heritage and would like to expose their children and grandchildren to the arts and culture of India to enrich their lives. It is also believed that students from other ethnic groups and national origins would like to learn about India and its heritage. Vallabh Vidya Mandir (VVM) is organized to fulfill this need and desire.

We believe that the primary education received by our children at the public school forms the primary foundational basis. The program offered by Vallabh Vidya Mandir is conceived as a complimentary program. It offers classes on a variety of subjects through its weekend-only class schedules. Its scope is also limited because it relies entirely on volunteer teachers and staff.
Since coming into existence in early 2005, Vallabh Vidya Mandir has made rapid progress. It has an enrollment of more than 150 students ably guided by over 30 volunteer teachers. There are more than 15 different classes on offer. The educational program is well received by the community and it continues to flourish. It regularly publishes a monthly newsletter during the academic year.

To meet its need for funds to carry out its activities, Vallabh Vidya Mandir depends on nominal student registration fees, general donations from its well wishers and matching grants from corporations where donors work. The users of this website are urged to make monetary contributions and offer their volunteer time.

To conduct its educational activities, Vallabh Vidya Mandir has rented the physical facility and furnished it with necessary furniture, equipment and furnishings.
