Namrata Patel - Gujarati 1

Namrataben was born and raised in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India, in a joint, Vaishnav family. Her formative years being in India, she has experienced, first-hand, the vast diversity here in Houston.
Her parents valued education and encouraged her to earn a bachelor's degree in commerce in 2001. She continued her education to earn a degree in fashion design from Gujarat Women’s College, Indore, Gujarat, in 2005, a bachelor's degree in education through online correspondence school from Singhania University, Rajasthan, India, in 2015, while working towards a bachelor's degree in naturopathy and yoga (BNYS) from Pune University.
Namrataben’s unprecedented and unique approach to teaching the young can be seen as a rather efficient process of carefully tending to her students’ needs, emotions, and feelings.
She always wanted to work with and teach little kids. And, having suffered the loss of her firstborn in 2002, her passion became stronger. She started teaching soon after and continued teaching for 16 years as a lead teacher in montessori school and advanced to a vice-Principal’s position for the last three years.
She is blessed with a son, Nainil, born in 2003; Nainil is now a senior at Texas A and M University pursuing his graduation in aerospace engineering.
Namrataben believes that education is the key for a better and brighter future which is why she started to actively mentor underprivileged children at an NGO named ‘Khushi’, based in India. Even after moving to US in 2019, she is still actively teaching and guiding them virtually. She has worked in Mariner Montessori school in Houston for 2 years as an assistant teacher and is now planning to pursue a Montessori certification from North American Montessori Center (NAMC).
While playfully maintaining a phenomenal work-life balance, she manages to find free time to engage in preparing exotic, gourmet dishes, sewing, and arts and crafts, as her hobbies.
Namrataben believes that every kid should basically know his/her mother-tongue, speaking, understanding, reading, and writing, at least at the basic level. She has been working toward this belief by teaching at VVM for over one year now, and enjoying it.
